Izzy Kemp breaks Golden Eagles’ school strikeout record
The Carmel softball team won an all-county game at Guerin Catholic 3-0 on Friday.
The Greyhounds scored two runs in the third inning. Sophie Esposito singled in Maddie Stacy, then Jessica Remm scored when Kylie Cunningham hit a sacrifice fly. Elsa Morrison scored in the fourth inning after Audrey Hussain hit a sacrifice bunt.
Paxton Law pitched a complete game, striking out seven and allowing only three hits.
The Golden Eagles’ Izzy Kemp also threw a complete game, tossing 12 strikeouts. Kemp broke the school record for most strikeouts, she now has 457.
Carmel is 9-6 and hosts Bishop Chatard on Monday. Guerin Catholic is 5-4 and plays today at Danville.
