The Noblesville girls soccer team cruised to another win on Saturday, beating Harrison 6-0.
Makenna Maloy scored the Class 3A No. 1 Millers’ first two goals, with Kiana Siefert assisting the first goal and Ava Bramblett assisting the second. Carlie Sack added another goal, then Maloy scored again for a hat trick, and to give Noblesville a 4-0 lead. Isabella Griffey and Sack both scored a second-half goal.
The Millers are 8-0 and will host Zionsville on Wednesday.
Noblesville’s boys team, also ranked No. 1 in 3A, traveled to Fort Wayne on Saturday to play St. Ignatius (Ohio), the No. 1-ranked team in the nation. The Millers are rated No. 20 in the nation.
St. Ignatius won the hard-fought game 4-2. Noblesville got the game’s first goal, with Brady Horn scoring off a Brayden Doll assist. St. Ignatius quickly tied the game, but Horn and Doll teamed up for another goal in the 35th minute. Again, it was Horn with the score and Doll with the assist, and it gave the Millers a 2-1 lead.
But that would be all. St. Ignatius made a penalty kick right before halftime to tie the game at 2-2. St. Ignatius added two more goals in the second half, the first one in the 43rd minute, and the second one on another penalty kick in the 78th minute.
Noblesville is 8-1-1 and plays Tuesday at Zionsville.
The Guerin Catholic girls team, ranked No. 20 in 3A, played to a 2-2 tie with Westfield on Saturday.
The Golden Eagles led 1-0 at halftime; Alyssa Ferry scored the goal off an Emersen Jennings assist. The Shamrocks scored both of their goals in the second half, with Caroline Wallace and Talia Whitesel both getting one goal each. Those goals put Westfield up 2-1, but Guerin Catholic came back to tie when Alex Soucie scored off a cross by Hailey Abel.
The Golden Eagles are 4-2-2 and play at Evansville Memorial next Saturday. Westfield is 3-3-3 and plays Wednesday at Hamilton Southeastern.
The Carmel boys team, ranked No. 11 in 3A, cruised past 3A No. 18 Columbus North 4-0 on Friday.
Will Morgan scored two goals and made one assist, AJ Caito and Ian Mahoney both added one goal, and Cole Fogleman and Baenan Mckeown both provided one assist.
“It was a high energy evening in front of a big crowd,” said Greyhounds coach Shane Schmidt. “I am proud of how well we transitioned from defense into our attack and we finished the ball well.”
Carmel is 5-2-1 and plays at North Central on Tuesday.
The Fishers boys team, ranked No. 2 in 3A, took of Columbus East 3-1 Saturday in the Tigers’ Senior Day game.
Noah Reinhart scored two goals for the Tigers, with Keiji Nakamae adding one goal and dishing out two assists.
Fishers honored nine seniors: Teghan Brownell, Andres Carabano, Sam Hevesy, Parker Lowell, Tyler March, Andrew Marslender, Evan Myers, Charlie Stump, and Shaun Zeyen.
The Tigers are 8-0-1 and host Brownsburg on Tuesday.
The Hamilton Southeastern girls, ranked No. 2 in 3A, won two tough games in Northern Indiana on Saturday.
First, the Royals beat 3A No. 18 Crown Point 1-0. Chloe Count scored Southeastern’s goal, with Morgan Castiglione making the assist. Hailey Wade got the goalkeeper shutout.
In their second game, the Royals got past Fort Wayne Crroll 1-0. Ella Chester got HSE’s goal, while the defense earned its 10th shutout of the season.
The Royals are 11-0-1 and host Westfield on Wednesday.
Hamilton Southeastern’s boys team, ranked No. 4 in 3A, was a 1-0 winner at Perry Meridian on Saturday.
The Royals scored their goal in the second half; Jonny Leeper found the back of the net, beating the Falcons’ goalkeeper after getting past two Perry Meridian defenders.
Southeastern is 7-1-1 and plays at Westfield on Tuesday.
