Soccer: Millers girls beat ‘Hounds, Carmel boys clinch MIC title, Fishers boys win share of HCC

In a Monday all-county girls soccer game, Class 3A No. 1 Noblesville got going in the second half and beat 3A No. 3 Carmel 2-0 at the Greyhounds’ Murray Stadium.
The Millers had to wait until the 54th minute to get their first goal. Meredith Tippner scored that goal, as she took a pass from Lauren Adam and eventually kicked it into the net.
Noblesville’s second goal came in the 73rd minute when Ava Bramblett scored from the left side of the box. Josie Taylor and Nona Reason combined for the shutout.
The Millers are 11-0 and play a Hoosier Crossroads Conference game at Franklin Central tonight. Carmel is 10-2-1 and travels to 3A No. 10 Center Grove tonight to play for the Metropolitan Conference championship.

The Carmel boys team clinched the Metropolitan Conference championship on Tuesday wtih a 5-3 win over Pike at Murray Stadium.
Senior Baenan Mckeown scored two goals for the 3A No. 13 Greyhounds, with AJ Caito, Will Morgan and Cole Fogleman each adding one goal. Caito, Will Latham, Colin Fettig, Connor Dora and Ian Mahoney each had one assist.
Carmel hosts Cathedral on Thursday in its Senior Night game.

The Fishers boys team, ranked No. 1 in 3A, collected at least a share of the HCC championship by beating Avon 3-2 in a Tuesday away game.
Caleb Hernandez, Keiji Nakamae and Charlie Stump all scored one goal for the Tigers, with Kyle Clayton, Sam Hevesy and Nakamae each dishing out one assist.
Fishers finished conference play 6-0-1. The Tigers are 11-0-1 and play Evansville Harrison and 3A No. 5 Penn on Saturday.

Noblesville’s boys, ranked No. 2 in 3A, cruised to a 7-1 HCC win over Franklin Central Tuesday at Hallmark Orthodontics Soccer Complex.
Specer Holland and Palmer Ault both scored two goals for the Millers, with Brayden Doll, Jordan Hindes and Sam Holland each adding one goal. Ault handed out two assists, while Holland, Doll, Andrew Stansfield and Matthew Morris all had one assist.
Noblesville is 5-0-1 in conference play and 11-1-1 overall. The Millers play Fort Wayne Carroll and 3A No. 20 Homestead on Saturday.

Westfield’s girls team cruised past Pendleton Heights 6-0 on Monday in the Shamrocks’ Senior Night game.
Amiah Sprunger scored two goals for the Shamrocks, with Mia Smith, Madison Niehaus, Lauren Ryan and Caroline Wallace all scoring one.
Westfield is 5-3-5 and hosts Brownsburg tonight in an HCC game.

Sheridan’s girls team took care of Hoosier Heartland Conference rival Eastern 6-0 in a Monday home game.
Cecilia Timme scored three goals for the Blackhawks, while Chaney Smith had two goals and one assist. Berkley Williams scored one goal and provided one assist, while Brianna Bayless made her first career assist Hailey Godby had three saves and her second shutout of the season.
The Blackhawks play another HHC game Wednesday at Tri-Central.

Guerin Catholic’s girls, ranked No. 20 in 3A, played to a 1-1 tie with 2A No. 3 Cathedral on Monday.
Both goals were scored in the second half. The Irish scored first, but less than a minute later, the Golden Eagles’ CeCe Leffler tied the game up. The 1-1 score would stand until fulltime.
Guerin Catholic is 5-2-3 and hosts 3A No. 7 South Bend St. Joseph on Saturday.
