Soccer: HSE girls cruise past top 20 teams

The Hamilton Southeastern girls soccer team picked up two big wins over ranked opponents on Saturday.
In their first game, the Class 3A No. 3 Royals cruised past 3A No. 15 Crown Point 4-0. Southeastern’s Ella Wolf scored the first goal 43 seconds into the game, with Lauren Ellinger providing the assist. Izzie Wallace got the second goal, with Olivia Smith handing out the assist.
The Royals led 3-0 at halftime, as Ella Chester scored off an assist by Kiley Jones right before the break. Ashlyn Freeman got a second-half goal, with Chester assisting.
Southeastern took care of 3A No. 16 Fort Wayne Carroll in its second game of the day. The Royals went up 3-0 during the first seven minutes; Wolf scored the first goal and Maddie Bellaver got the second goal, with Wallace assisting both. Wallace then found the back of the net, with Brook Baker making the assist.
Bellaver then added another goal off a free kick by Harris to make the score 4-0 at halftime. Harris added two more goals in the second half, while Freeman scored off a Lauren Clark assist.
“HSE had a great weekend and Coach is super proud of them for taking what we have been working on and talking about and displaying it during the games,” said Royals coach Greg Davidson.
Southeastern is 8-1-2 and plays at Westfield on Wednesday.

The Noblesville boys team won an all-county game with Guerin Catholic Saturday, by the score of 2-0.
The 3A No. 2 Millers scored their first goal in the 21st minute; Palmer Ault sent a through ball to Spencer Holland, who kicked it in the net. Noblesville’s second goal came in the 58th minute; Ault sent a cross that Garrett Poynter put in to score.
The Millers are 7-0 and host 3A No. 4 Zionsville on Tuesday. The Golden Eagles, ranked No. 4 in 2A, are 4-1-2 and host Cathedral on Tuesday.

The Hamilton Heights girls team, ranked No. 8 in 2A, picked up another big win on Saturday, beating Frankfort 8-0.
Emma Hall, Kyndall Ferguson and Paige Doucette all scored two goals for the Huskies, with Cassidy Felger and Sophie Martin both getting one goal. Keri Townsend and Hall each handed out two assists.
The win puts Heights at 8-0-2 for the season. The Huskies host Marion at 6 p.m. Tuesday, in a varsity-only game.

The Guerin Catholic girls team, ranked No. 9 in 3A, took care of Roncalli 2-0 in a Saturday Circle City Conference game.
After a scoreless first half, the Golden Eagles got two goals in rapid fashion in the second half. Quincy McMahon scored with a header off an assist by Ava Schlichte. Jentrie Gearhart added the second goal with a kick from midfield.
Guerin Catholic is 3-1-1 and hosts 3A No. 8 Avon on Monday.

The Carmel boys team, ranked No. 7 in 3A, beat Columbus North 3-0 in a Friday away game.
Gui Basso, Connor Smith and Medard Mikobi each scored one goal, with AJ Caito and Josh Martinez both handing out one assist.
The Greyhounds are 6-1-1 and host 3A No. 1 North Central on Tuesday.
