Soccer: Carmel boys win all-county game

In a Friday all-county boys soccer game, Class 3A No. 13 Carmel beat 2A No. 2 Guerin Catholic 3-0.
Senior Baenan Mckeown scored two goals for the Greyhounds, with junior Will Latham scoring one. Seniors Drew Valdez and Josh Martinez and junior Callum Mckeown each had one assist. Senior TJ Barrett got the goalkeeper shutout.
“I am proud of the effort the guys gave tonight,” said Carmel coach Shane Schmidt. “Wrapping up three straight weeks of Tuesday, Thursday, Friday games. I felt our mixture of direct play and combination play was good.”
Carmel is 10-3-1 and plays Monday at Center Grove in a Metropolitan Conference game. Guerin Catholic is 7-3 and hosts Lafayette Central Catholic on Tuesday.

Noblesville’s boys team won two games on Saturday.
In their first game, the Class 3A No. 2 Millers beat Fort Wayne Carroll 3-0, scoring all of their goals in the first half. Noblesville got the first goal during the sixth minute, with Kyle Goad setting up a Palmer Ault shot that deflected off a defender and rolled into the net. Brayden Doll scored the Millers’ second goal, then Sammy Holland made a penalty kick for the third goal.
Noblesville beat 3A No. 20 Homestead 1-0 in its second game, which also served as its Senior Night game. Cole Bramblett scored the Millers’ goal in the fourth minute.
Noblesville finishes its regular and Hoosier Crossroads Conference season Thursday at Brownsburg.

Fishers’ boys team also played two games on Saturday.
First, the Class 3A No. 1 Tigers cruised past Evansville Harrison 9-0. Andres Carabano scored three goals, followed by Keiji Nakamae with two goals. Kyle Clayton, Santi Morales, Charlie Stump and Tyler March each got one goal.
In its second game, Fishers played to a 2-2 tie with 3A No. 5 Penn. Noah Reinhart and Nakamae each scored one goal.
The Tigers are 12-0-2 and finish the regular season Tuesday at Greenfield-Central.

Carmel’s girls team, ranked No. 3 in 3A, beat 3A No. 10 Zionsville 2-0 in a Saturday away game.
The Greyhounds scored both goals in the first half. Emily Roper scored off an assist by Megan Hamm, then Sophie Shepherd scored off an Olivia Cebalo assist.
Carmel is 11-2-2 and finishes its regular season Monday by hosting Westfield.

Noblesville’s girls team, ranked No. 1 in 3A, swept past Penn 4-0 on Saturday.
Meredith Tippner got the Millers on the board in the first minute by scoring off an Ava Bramblett assist. Bramblett scored Noblesville’s second goal in the 10th minute, with Meskerem James providing the assist. Right before halftime, Marit McLaughlin put the ball in the net, with Makenna Maloy assisting. Paige Smucker completed the scoring with a goal in the 69th minute.
The Millers are 13-0 and play at Hamilton Southeastern Wednesday in their HCC and regular-season finale.
