April 19, 1929 – July 10, 2017
Sidney D. Hood, 88, of Noblesville, passed away on Monday, July 10, 2017 at St. Vincent Hospital in Indianapolis. He was born on April 19, 1929 in Valley Station, Ky.
Sid graduated from New Albany High School where he played basketball. He proudly served his country in the United States Marines, and also played basketball for Kentucky Wesleyan College. For 25 years, Sid was a salesman and merchandise manager for Sears. In his retirement, he worked in sales for the L.J. Stone Company in Muncie and also in sales and training for Bee Window in Indianapolis. Sid was a 
member of Our Lady of Grace Catholic Church, was past president of Miller Backers, and was active in Fox Prairie Men’s Golf Club.
He is survived by his wife of 63 years, Dolores “Dee” Hood; sons, Mark (Susan) Hood, Mike (Gloria) Hood, Jeff (Cindi) Hood, and Steve (Dorothy) Hood; nine grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by one grandchild.
Visitation and Funeral Mass will be held on Thursday, July 13, 2017 at Our Lady of Grace Catholic Church, 9900 East 191st Street in Noblesville, with visitation from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. and Mass to follow. Rev. Dale W. Ehrman will officiate. Entombment will follow Mass, at Oaklawn Memorial Gardens in Indianapolis.
