Carmel police say an altercation on Friday night at the Red Robin restaurant located in Clay Terrace resulted in one person arrested and one person injured after shots were fired outside the restaurant.
Police did not release details of the event; however, sources for the Hamilton County Reporter indicated a verbal confrontation occurred between two employees inside the restaurant, then continued into the parking lot where it became physical and one individual fired two shots from a semi-automatic handgun.
A statement issued by the Carmel Police Department said the injured person was treated at the scene. Information received by the Reporter from a police officer at the scene indicated the person’s injury was a result of the gunshot.
Police would not comment further on the incident, or provide the name and charges of the person arrested. A CPD spokesman referred media to the Hamilton County Prosecutor’s Office. The Hamilton County Prosecutor’s Office has not responded to a request from the Reporter for further information.
