It is with great sadness the Hamilton County Sheriff’s Office announces the passing of Patrol Canine Snoop on Tuesday evening.

Snoop had been courageously facing medical issues for the last several months, which unfortunately resulted in him succumbing to those issues Tuesday. Please keep Deputy Patrick Traphagan and the agency in your thoughts and prayers during this difficult time.

Snoop was a German Shephard born in the Czech Republic on March 18, 2020. Snoop had been trained in narcotic detection and was also trained in obedience, tracking, area searching and criminal apprehension. Deputy Traphagan and Snoop graduated training from Vohne Liche Kennels and were released on patrol on Jan. 6 of this year.

The Hamilton County Sheriff’s Office is planning on having a memorial to commemorate Snoop’s life and service to the department in the near future. Arrangements will be released once finalized.
