Shortly after noon on Tuesday, April 8, deputies from the Hamilton County Sheriff’s Office responded to a 911 call which reportedly involved a physical altercation with multiple subjects in the area of 146th Street and Warner Trail.
A Carmel Police Department officer also responded and arrived on scene prior to the Sheriff’s deputies.

While driving to the call with lights and sirens activated, one Sheriff’s deputy was involved in a traffic crash at the intersection of 146th Street and Spring Mill Road. Four vehicles were involved in the crash. Multiple non-life-threatening injuries were reported as a result of the crash, and two adults (including one deputy) were transported to the hospital.
The Hamilton County Sheriff’s Office was assisted on the crash and the initial physical altercation incident by the Carmel Police Department and Westfield Police Department. Two vehicles sustained disabling damage (including one Sheriff’s Office vehicle) and were towed from the scene.
The incident remains under investigation; case 2025-11219.
