Sheriff’s Christmas with Mayor of Mustache City

You may have noticed deputies from the Hamilton County Sheriff’s Department wearing facial hair over the month of November. This was due to an agency tradition called “Movember,” also known as No Shave November.

Deputies who choose to take part in this month-long event must pay money in order to get the Sheriff’s permission to grow a beard for the entirety of the month. The funds raised are then used to financially help local families in need.

This year, due to the generosity of the participating employees, along with the hard work of the event’s creator, Brian Niec, a.k.a. “The Mayor of Mustache City,” the Sheriff’s Department had additional funds that allowed Sheriff’s Office employees to create random acts of kindness throughout Hamilton County.

Shortly before Christmas, Sergeant Niec assisted families by unexpectedly paying for Christmas presents.

According the Sheriff’s Department, these actions taken by the members of the Sheriff’s Office fall in line with their agency’s values and goals: To enhance the quality of life in the community and schools by engaging and partnering with the citizens they serve.
