Sheridan’s Nova Cross gets quadruple win at HHC meet

The Sheridan track & field teams competed at the Hoosier Heartland Conference meet last Friday at Carroll.

The Blackhawks’ girls team finished in third place with 80.5 points. Sheridan won five events at the meet, including a quadruple win for Nova Cross. The senior swept all three dashes (100, 200 and 400) and finished the meet by joining Sophia Goettig, Kenzie Garner and Ji Warren to win the 4×400 relay. Brielle Garner won the 3200 run.

Sheridan’s top eight finishers in each event now follow.

100 hurdles: 6. Kenzie Garner 19.22.

100 dash: 1. Nova Cross 13.17.

1600 run: 3. Brielle Garner 6:21.10.

400 dash: 1. Cross 1:01.87.

200 dash: 1. Cross 27.44.

3200 run: 1. B. Garner 13:32.09.

4×400 relay: 1. Sheridan (Sophia Goettig, K. Garner, Cross, Ji Warren) 4:31.77.

Shot put: 7. Adrianna Hamersley 26-7.75.

Long jump: 3. Warren 14-5.5.

In the boys meet, Sheridan placed ninth with 33 points. Damon Winston was a double winner, finishing first in the 110 hurdles and the high jump.
