Because of community supporters, the Sheridan Youth Assistance Program (SYAP) is currently serving 22 percent of students at Sheridan Community Schools.
Some of the highlights from 2021 include:
- 12 students worked in the summer employment program
- 15 uninsured or underinsured students received mental health counseling
- 21 students received after school care
- 47 students had a community or peer mentor
- 50 students had a camp experience
- 85 students received tutoring services
- 100 students were able to participate in an extracurricular activity
- 200 students received school supplies
- 375 individuals received holiday assistance
