This coming Wednesday at 6 p.m., Sheridan High School will hold the first in a series of events to inform for high school juniors, seniors, and their parents on the college admission process and career opportunities.

Juniors, seniors, and their parents are encouraged to attend the session on Wednesday, Nov. 9 in high school library.

Mundy

“This is an important time for juniors and seniors as they prepare for the next phase in their lives, and at Sheridan we are ready to help in the process,” Superintendent Dave Mundy. “We want students and their parents to know that we are here to support them through this journey.”

Topics will include a discussion on how to access common application, the common application versus the direct application, suggestions for college essays, and question-and-answer sessions with college readiness experts. One of the speakers will be Dan Clark, former Ivy Tech Noblesville Site Director, whom Superintendent Mundy describes as, “having a wealth of knowledge about the college admissions process with many helpful tips for parents about not only the process but saving them money along the way.”

In addition to Wednesday’s session, parents of juniors and seniors should mark their calendars for future dates:

  • Wednesday, Nov. 16 and Thursday, Dec. 1: Financial Aid and FAFSA
  • Wednesday, Jan. 18: Career Awareness and Opportunity Night
  • Wednesday, Feb. 15: Scholarship Application Evening
  • Wednesday, March 15: Military Information Night

All sessions will begin at 6 p.m.
