Sheridan easily picked up its third straight Hoosier Heartland Conference win on Friday, sailing past Delphi 47-14 in an away game.
The Blackhawks totaled 425 yards of rushing in the game, scoring all seven of their touchdowns on the ground. Peyton Cross got things started early with a 45-yard run into the end zone, then Zach Bales made a short scoring run late in the first quarter.
Sheridan led 13-7 after the first period, and extended that lead to 33-7 by halftime. Cross took off on a 63-yard touchdown run less than 30 seconds into the second quarter. Zach Bales found the end zone on an eight-yard run seconds later, and Jacob Jones made a five-yard jog in to score right before the break.
The ‘Hawks added two more touchdown runs in the third quarter. Eli Kolb scored from 16 yards, and Jones took a 10-yard run into the end zone. Owen Bell made all five of his extra-point kicks.
Cross led the Sheridan rushing with 175 yards.
The Blackhawks are 3-0 in conference play and 3-1 overall. Sheridan goes back on the road next Friday, playing an HHC contest at Clinton Prairie.
