The Sheridan Police and Fire departments are the recipients of two safety grants from the Indiana Public Employers’ Plan, Inc. (IPEP). The purpose of the grants is to promote a safe work environment and assist with stretching each department’s risk management resources.

According to Sheridan Clerk-Treasurer Elizabeth Walden, Sheridan Police received a $1,936 grant to purchase first aid kits for police cars, AED pads, and miscellaneous safety items. Sheridan Fire’s grant of $1,933.98 was used to purchase 50 high-visibility safety vests. Each department applied for their own grants last October.

IPEP worked with Sheridan Fire Chief Travis Stern and Officer Nichole Gossman in securing these funds, along with Tony Vescovi of McGown Insurance Group.
