Sheridan Police Department makes history

Fairchok

The Sheridan Police Department has hired its first full-time merit female police officer in the town’s history.

According to Sheridan Police Chief Robert Shock, Officer Lydia Fairchok began her fulltime patrol duties on Dec. 18. Shock indicated Fairchok previously served as a reserve officer for Sheridan and worked as a fulltime dispatcher at the Hamilton County Communications Center.

“This is an exciting time for the Sheridan Police Department in making history by hiring our first female merit officer,” stated Shock.
