The Sheridan girls basketball team was looking for its first Hoosier Heartland Conference win of the season Friday, and the Blackhawks got it in overwhelming fashion, beating Eastern 54-21 at Larry Hobbs Hall.
Sheridan took care of this one early, leading 20-4 after one quarter and 36-8 at halftime. Ashley Webel scored 11 points during the first half, including three 3-pointers. The ‘Hawks then outscored the Comets 15-6 in the third quarter for a 51-14 lead.
Webel finished the game with five 3-pointers on her way to 17 points. Kenzie Garner and Shelby Eaton both added 10 points.
Sheridan is 1-2 in conference play and 4-7 overall, and hosts Lebanon Tuesday.
