Deputies arriving at the scene found a male victim with stab and slash wounds to various parts of his body, including the abdomen. First aid treatment was rendered by deputies until medics arrived. The victim was taken by air ambulance to St. Vincent Hospital on 86th Street for treatment of his injuries, which detectives indicated were not believed to be life threatening.

During the investigation, Brian Harris, 44, Sheridan, was identified as the alleged suspect in the attack. Investigators believe Harris slashed tires on a vehicle at the location when he confronted and a fight ensued. Harris was later located in a nearby wooded area and was taken into custody. He was treated at St. Vincent Carmel Hospital for a large cut on his hand before being transported to jail.

The original 911 report of shots fired was made due to the discharge of a firearm during the altercation. No one was injured by a firearm. Investigators located a utility knife at the scene and believe it to have been used in the incident.

Brian Lee Harris was booked into the Hamilton County Jail on multiple preliminary misdemeanor and felony charges of:

  • Criminal Mischief,
  • Battery with Serious Bodily Injury,
  • Criminal Recklessness with a Deadly Weapon, and
  • Aggravated Battery

No bail/bond amount was listed at the time of this release.

Since an arrest has been made in this case, any further questions should be addressed to the Hamilton County Prosecutor’s Office.

A preliminary charge is merely an accusation. All subjects are innocent unless/until found guilty in a court of law.
