The Sheridan Lions Club closed out 2024 by giving back.

For Thanksgiving, the local Lions, with help from their friends, managed to feed more than 104 families and they helped brighten Christmas for nearly as many. The Lions joined forces with Sheridan Youth Assistance, Mama’s Cupboard, and the Sheridan Methodist Church to serve their community.

The Lions will continue to raise funds for their service missions when they host their Lions Club Chili Dinner Friday night at Sheridan High School. Dinner will be served from 5 to 7 p.m. and the cost is a free-will offering.

The chili dinner is part of a huge night of high school basketball as the local Blackhawks host league foe Tri-Central in a girl-boy doubleheader that tips off at 6 p.m. The local ladies are steamrolling along with a 12-1 record and are undefeated in the Hoosier Heartland Conference. The local lads are 8-2 overall and also unbeaten in the conference.

Proceeds from the chili dinner are used to fund Lions Club projects throughout the year.
