Sheridan Lions Club members ventured back in time, way back in time, at their recent meeting.
Civil War re-enactor Greg Swank visited the local service organization dressed in full Civil War uniform and displayed various combat gear and weapons used during the bloody war fought on U.S. soil from 1861 to 1865. He also displayed other soldier essentials during the evening presentation. A question-and-answer session followed.
The local Lions also finalized plans for their first fundraising event of the year. Their annual Pancake Breakfast will take place this coming Saturday morning, March 15, at Sheridan Elementary School, located at 24795 Hinesley Road. Serving time is 7 to 10 a.m.
Along with pancakes, the morning breakfast will also include biscuits topped by Jeff Mosbaugh’s famous sausage gravy, scrambled eggs, and sausage patties.
The price to enjoy a full breakfast is simply a free-will offering. Pay what you can. Proceeds benefit Lions Club projects inside the Sheridan community.
