The Sheridan girls soccer team lost a tough game on Thursday, falling to Western Boone 2-1 on the road.
After a scoreless first half, the Stars got on the board first with a penalty kick. But the Blackhawks quickly tied the game up, drawing a foul that set up a goal by Emma Alexander. The teams battled for the remainder of the game before Western Boone scored in the last 90 seconds to get the win.
Claire Purciful had what Sheridan coach Brian Prange called a great night defensively; Prange said Purciful “played very aggressive and cleared many dangerous balls.” Grace Killion had 10 saves in her second start of the season.
Sheridan next plays Faith Christian on Tuesday.
