The Sheridan girls basketball team rolled to its fifth consecutive win on Thursday, beating Rossville 49-19 in a Hoosier Heartland Conference game at Larry Hobbs Hall.
The Blackhawks led 12-2 after the first quarter and 26-8 at halftime, using balanced scoring to establish their lead. Six different players scored at least one point in the first half. Sheridan ramped up its defense again in the third period, outscoring the Hornets 15-2 to take a 41-10 advantage. Cecilia Timme scored five points during that quarter.
Timme and Webel each finished with nine points for Sheridan, with Webel making three 3-pointers. Chaney Smith added eight points. Taylor Bates led the rebounding with eight, followed by Lilly Chesney with five.
The Blackhawks are 2-1 in conference play and 6-2 overall. Sheridan travels to Clinton Central tonight for an HHC girls-boys doubleheader.
