The Sheridan FFA chapter has had an exciting and vibrant week, filled with fun activities that brought the community together and celebrated its agricultural roots. From a hearty breakfast to a petting zoo, and even a teacher kissing a pig, this week showcased the enthusiasm and spirit of the FFA.

The week was filled with themed dress-up days, where students and staff showed off their creativity. From camo attire to dressing like the teacher sponsor, Mr. Scott Ison, the chapter got everyone into the spirit, showcasing their pride for the organization. The annual petting zoo delighted young and old with a variety of friendly animals. Over 600 students and families had the chance to interact with multiple animals, making it a highlight of the week for many. The Sheridan Elementary students got a lesson in animal science, too.

One of the most entertaining moments of the week was the Teacher Kiss the Pig contest. As part of a fun fundraiser, teachers volunteered to kiss a pig. Throughout the week students and staff donated money to the teacher that they wanted to see kiss a pig. It was a hilarious and heartwarming moment that raised money for the chapter, all while giving the students a chance to see their teachers in a very different light.

The week ended with the FFA Breakfast, where students, teachers, and families gathered to enjoy a delicious meal, all while supporting the chapter’s future events and initiatives.

In addition to the week’s fun events, Sheridan FFA is also gearing up for the district contest which will take place the last week of February. Students will compete in a variety of events such as public speaking, livestock judging, and plant identification, demonstrating their dedication to leadership, teamwork, and agriculture. The contest serves as an opportunity for personal growth and to connect with other FFA chapters in the district.

In addition to this upcoming contest, the Middle School FFA Meats Judging team, consisting of Eva Beckner, Jacob Glunt, Landon Glunt, and Mackenzie Pickard, achieved an impressive second-place finish at the state competition. This outstanding accomplishment showcases their dedication, hard work, and the valuable experiences provided through FFA.

This week alone shows the energy and dedication of the Sheridan FFA chapter. Through fun events and a strong sense of community, they continue to thrive, fostering leadership and teamwork.
