Last Thursday, Feb. 27, Sheridan High School FFA members participated in the District 5 FFA Leadership Contests held at Hamilton Heights High School.
The competition saw more than 17 schools from the district come together for students to showcase their skills in various public speaking and demonstration contests. Sheridan FFA members impressed the judges and their peers, with several placing highly in their respective events.

Placements
- Eva Beckner placed second in public speaking.
- Eva Beckner and Landon Glunt placed first in their discovery of animal science demonstration. Eva Beckner and Mackenzie Pickard placed first in their discovery of food science demonstration.
- Eva Beckner, Landon Glunt, Mackenzie Pickard, and Maddie Roberts placed first in the discovery quiz bowl.
- Braxton Sedwick placed first in his chapter exhibit.
With numerous first-place finishes, several Sheridan FFA members will advance to the State FFA Convention at Purdue University in June. These district winners will compete for state-level recognition and continue to represent Sheridan with pride.
A heartfelt congratulations goes out to all the participants, with best wishes as they move forward to the next stage of competition. The dedication and hard work of Sheridan FFA members have truly paid off, and they are excited to continue their journey in FFA.
