Sheridan opened the week with its first loss of the season Tuesday, dropping a tight game with Brebeuf Jesuit 54-51 at Larry Hobbs Hall.
The Braves led 18-14 after one quarter and 30-22 at halftime. Kenzie Garner scored nine points for the Blackhawks in the first half, while Cecilia Timme added eight points. Brebeuf led 39-31 going into the fourth quarter; Garner poured in 13 points as part of a 20-point period for Sheridan, but the Braves were able to hang on for the win.
Garner finished the game with 30 points, while Timme scored 11. Kenzie Garner and her sister Brielle Garner both made two 3-pointers.
The Blackhawks are 2-1 and play at Covenant Christian on Thursday.
