Volleyball: Sheridan competes at Clinton Prairie Invitational

The Sheridan volleyball team played in the Clinton Prairie Invitational on Saturday.
The Blackhawks were swept in two sets in each of their matches. Against the host Gophers, Emma Went and Becca Merritt both had one kill, Maddie Zola collected three digs and had one assist, while Allie Delph also had one assist. Cheyenne Brooks served five aces and made two blocks; Merritt also had two blocks.
Against Lafayette Jefferson, Merritt and Josie Dickerson both hit one kill. Zola and Delph each handed out one assists. Olivia Raines made four digs, Brooks had three aces and Merritt had three blocks.
Against Seeger, Zola dished out two assists and served one ace. Merritt made five blocks. Raines had six digs. Went, Dickerson and Delph each hit one kill.
Sheridan’s junior varsity team placed third, beating Seeger in three sets and losing to Clinton Prairie and Lafayette Jeff in two sets.
The ‘Hawks host Taylor on Tuesday.
