Sheridan Community Schools announces that tickets are on sale for the upcoming spring musical, Matilda Jr., taking place this weekend. Based on the well-known and beloved book by Roald Dahl, Matilda Jr. brings to life the story of a brilliant young girl, Matilda. Her intelligence and imagination set her apart from the world around her. Despite being mistreated by her parents, Matilda finds comfort in her kind-hearted school teacher, Miss Honey. However, there is a cruel headmistress, Miss Trunchbull, who delights in punishing students who defy her. Despite this, Matilda with her bravery and wit may be the key to standing up to her bullies, therefore reclaiming justice and freedom.

Under the direction of Dr. Johnny McGinnis, Libby Doublestein, Ashlynn Green, Tony Tuite, and Beth Sabelhaus, the production promises to be stunning, the music entertaining, and an overall unforgettable performance. The audience will be transported into Matilda’s world, where imagination and standing up for what’s right will be celebrated. The rebellious students of Matilda’s school will inspire the audience because they will have you cheering for the “revolting children” who aren’t afraid to make their voices heard.
