Sheridan boys sack Taylor, leading in conference

The Sheridan boys took care of Taylor 68-34 Friday in a Hoosier Heartland Conference road game.

The Blackhawks took control early, leading 21-5 after the first quarter. Sheridan extended its lead to 39-17 by halftime, then put together a strong third period to lead 57-22.

Senior Damon Winston led the way with 23 points and also pulled four rebounds. Devon Hamilton scored 18 points and was dominant on defense with four blocked shots and two steals. Hamilton also dished out four assists.

Caleb Wright scored 11 points, while Trey Page had eight rebounds, six points, five steals and four assists.

A boxscore was unavailable at press time.

The Blackhawks lead the conference standings with a 6-1 record and are 12-3 overall. Sheridan is back home at Larry Hobbs Gymnasium tonight to host Covenant Christian.
