Former Sheridan basketball player Rex Pitts will be honored at the Blackhawks’ home basketball on Tuesday, Dec. 18 after being inducted into the Hamilton County Basketball Hall of Fame.
Pitts played for the legendary Larry Hobbs at Sheridan High School and was on the starting five squad for four consecutive sectional champion teams in 1949-1952. He was named to the All-County Teams in 1950, 1951 and 1952; All-Sectional Teams for the same three years; and the All-Regional Team in 1951. He was nominated to the Indianapolis Star All-Star Team in 1952.
Friends and former teammates who remember Pitts will be able to say hello and chat with him at a pre-game reception at 5:30 p.m. in the North Hall of the Sheridan High School gym. He will be introduced and honored at halftime of the varsity game.
