Sheehan Charitable Foundation gives $50K grant to BGCN

The Tom & Soni Sheehan Boys & Girls Club of Noblesville (BGCN) recently received a $50,000 grant from the Thomas P. and Sondra D. Sheehan Charitable Foundation, a fund of Hamilton County Community Foundation, in support of scholarships and its transportation program for the 2025-26 school year.

“We are excited to partner with The Thomas P. and Sondra D. Sheehan Charitable Foundation once again to ensure the youth in our community have the support they need,” BGCN Executive Director Becky Terry said. “Now more than ever, kids need a safe place where they can learn, grow and have fun. With the support received from the Thomas P. and Sondra D. Sheehan Charitable Foundation, more youth will have access to new opportunities through programming that will inspire and prepare them for great futures.”

The Foundation’s support will help provide reliable transportation to the Club, removing barriers that prevent youth from participating in after-school programs. It will also fund scholarships to ease the financial burden for families in need. Over the past year, 551 youth and teens utilized the Club’s transportation services, while 196 families received financial assistance and scholarships, an 18 percent increase compared to the previous year.

“Every grant we provide reflects the values my parents, Tom and Soni Sheehan, cherished: compassion, community, and a dedication to helping others,” said Tracey Sheehan, Board Chair of the Sheehan Charitable Foundation. “It is a privilege to carry on their legacy by supporting organizations that are making a meaningful impact in the lives of children. These grants honor their memory and continue the work they started to build a stronger Hamilton County.”
