Sharon Lynne Hensley

d. May 8, 2023

Sharon Lynne Hensley, 84, Cicero, ascended to her Lord and Savior on the evening of May 8, 2023. After enduring lengthy chronic conditions, she made it to her birthday on May 8, then passed away peacefully at home.

She is survived by her children, Brent Whitaker, Lisa Meyer and William Hensley. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a son, Todd Hensley, and longtime friend who was like a sister to her, Esther Wyandt, who are home in heaven with her.

Sharon was born in Frankfort, Ind., the only child of Mildred and William Davidson. She attended Frankfort Schools and graduated from Frankfort High School. In her younger days she was known to be a vivacious, intelligent, and accomplished woman. While caring for her family, including raising her children, she also built a career of “Women in Construction” while also utilizing and maintaining her real estate broker’s license. She worked and played hard, accomplishing great things while helping and loving others.

Sharon enjoyed being a part of her community and Church. She was known as having a love language with food, growing healthy vegetables and beautiful flowers. She assisted many families in her community with networking resources and food assistance. She also shared her knowledge of food and recipes with others. She was known among the White River Christian Church Food Pantry volunteers and patrons.

As her illnesses progressed, Sharon cherished the individuals who made up her teams. They all became a part of her family as they supported her so she could remain in her home. Her Traditions Hospice Team and her Home Helpers Team were with her as she took her final breath.

To all who knew her, Sharon was a very special person. She was a friend, a neighbor, a mother, and a grandmother and will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved her. She leaves behind cherished and lasting memories with her grandchildren, Kristofer Deutsch, Stephani Deutsch, Britany Hensley, Meleena Hensley, and Ava Hensley; plus seven great-grandchildren with more to come. Memories of her will live on.

Sharon’s wishes were to have a family gathering and celebration of her life. There will not be a formal service. Sharon requested memorial contributions be made to the White River Christian Church Food Pantry at pushpay.com/g/wrccnoblesville.
