Actors Theatre of Indiana will present a Patriotic Friday Night Live at 7:30 p.m. tonight on a computer or video screen near you.
Don Farrell, Judy Fitzgerald and Cynthia Collins make up the ATI Trio and are ready to help you kick off your Independence Day weekend by sharing some patriotic favorites. They will be joined by ATI Executive Director Jim Reilly.
With many events canceled due to the pandemic, ATI is offering another way to honor our great nation.
“The 4th of July may be a little different this year in regard to how we celebrate it, but the pride of living in the greatest nation on earth never changes,” Collins said.
“Although we have celebrated July 4th as a federal holiday since 1941, our nation’s celebrations go back farther to July 2nd, 1776, when the Continental Congress voted in favor of Independence,” Farrell said. “Much has transpired since then and we, as the adolescent nation we are, continue to grow, continue to be challenged and most importantly, continue to learn. We must reflect on the questions: What have our freedoms cost us? What are we willing to protect? What is worth a righteous fight and what isn’t? What better way to keep our freedoms and our future at the forefront than to celebrate and reflect through song.”
This is a perfect way to spend your Friday night – while practicing safe social distancing – with the help of social media. It is easy to join by logging onto the Facebook Live event. Come to Actors Theatre of Indiana’s Facebook page and join in for some music and fun.
