Dear Editor:
As Carmel’s city council begins 2025 budget deliberations, it well might include some reality this year.
Previous budgets omitted debt repayment.
The city has told the State of Indiana that will be $99 million in 2025.
Last year’s deliberations produced a $137 million budget, but the city spent $500 million.
That included the Carmel Redevelopment Commission’s spending which the city’s budget excludes.
Time to tell taxpayers what’s really going on.
We’re old enough to handle the truth.
