Dear Editor:

Not long ago, the financial wizards at Carmel City Hall paid $455,000 for the second-floor office space for its redevelopment commission.

Now, the city councilors are mulling buying the second floor for $1.5 million.

Does that mean that, in a few years, the redevelopment commission will buy it back for $3 million? Then $6 million a few years after that?

At that rate, the profits alone will surely pay off the city’s $1.4 billion debt.

If you believe that, how are you on the Tooth Fairy?
