Dear Editor:

It took 13 years, but the intrepid whiz kids at City Hall have found Carmel’s two missing roundabouts.

Built in 2006 with seven other roundies and hiding in plain sight ever since, the Central Park East and Central Park West truant traffic teasers finally made the city’s official list of roundabouts in April.

Now, all 124 purposeless loops are present and accounted for. You’d have expected Carmel’s government-by-press-release to issue a triumphant statement of success and maybe dedicate an evening of free noise – er, musical entertainment – to the prodigal motor rings.

No. City Hall is too humble for that.

But, they’ve got a lot to be humble about.
