Seven county players compete in Futures Games

Seven Hamilton County basketball players (four boys and three girls) were among the rosters for the 2024 IndyStar Futures Games, which took place Monday at Hamilton Southeastern.

All three county girls competed for the South team, which won 97-84. Hamilton Southeastern had two players in the lineup: Kennedy Holman and Kayla Stidham. They were joined by Noblesville’s C.C. Quigley, part of the Millers’ regional championship team last season. All three just finished their sophomore seasons.

Holman scored eight points for the South team and also handed out four assists. Stidham had seven points and Quigley added four points.

In the boys game, three county players were on the North team. Class 4A state champion Fishers had two representatives: Jason Gardner Jr. and Cooper Zachary, both of whom were freshmen during the Tigers’ championship run. They were joined by Justin Curry, who just finished his sophomore year. Carmel’s Evan Harrell, who also just finished his sophomore year, played for the South team.

The South team won 116-113, with Harrell scoring eight points. Gardner Jr. scored 16 points for the North team, while Zachary scored 11 and Curry had eight points.
