SERVE Noblesville accepting applications for June volunteer blitz

SERVE Noblesville will be back this summer, offering “compassionate neighbors” the chance to connect by improving their community June 27 to 30.

Have an idea for a project volunteers can tackle during the four-day blitz? Applications are being accepted through April 7 at servenoblesville.com under the “2019 Info” tab. The organization also is accepting applications now for the project leaders, volunteer groups and community partners that make this annual event possible.

Since its formation in 2012, SERVE Noblesville has engaged more than 4,100 volunteers to help with nearby 265 community projects. Last year, the volunteer-led coalition of neighbors, churches, businesses and other organizations mobilized more than 650 volunteers to tackle 58 projects in and around Noblesville. Organizers expect the 2019 event to continue to grow.

This will be the second year for the Cultural Celebration, presented in partnership with the Noblesville Diversity Coalition. Scheduled for the evening of Friday, June 28, the Cultural Celebration will fill the Courthouse Square with booths highlighting food, music and other traditions from all over the world.

“SERVE Noblesville is about creating opportunities for our neighbors to meet, interact and develop a stronger appreciation for one another,” said Patrick Propst, SERVE Noblesville chairman and a pastor at Faith Community Church. “The Cultural Celebration is wonderful gathering highlighting the diversity and inclusion that are a part of Noblesville.”

Service projects run the gamut from assembling nutritional meals for the food panties to completing critical home repairs. Volunteers can register to serve on projects that appeal to them beginning June 1.

Applications are being accepted now through April 7 for the following:

  • General projects
  • Project leaders – those willing to lead a group of volunteers
  • Groups – register your group to come serve together
  • Corporate partners – choose one of multiple ways your business can offer support
