Anthem is working with Caregiving.com to provide a unique opportunity people to meet and build relationships with a diverse group of local resources and healthcare providers, all unified by a commitment to delivering outstanding service to the caregiver community and their loved ones.
“Being a caregiver is an important responsibility that can be complex and stressful,” said Dr. Kimberly Roop, Anthem Blue Cross and Blue Shield’s Medicaid President in Indiana. “We are grateful to provide our community with resources to help navigate the process, provide education, peer support, and connect caregivers with tools and inspiration to overcome the challenges. Resources in our communities can be extremely helpful as a caregiver builds a support structure that lifts them up and brings confidence in knowing their devotion to their loved one is invaluable.”
The event will be held from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. on Nov. 5 at the Indiana State Fairgrounds in the Agriculture Horticulture Building. Those that attend will be able to connect with caregivers and aging professionals from their own community. The expo will include hundreds of local businesses that serve family caregivers and their loved ones from all areas of the family caregiving continuum including health and wellness, benefits information, educational resources, financial information, legal planning, and local advocacy and support groups.
“While family caregivers often deal with a similar set of challenges nationally, the way they navigate those challenges is often determined locally based on their available resources,” Caregiving.com CEO Mike Eidsaune said. “That is why it is important to us at Caregiving.com to show up in our communities across the country to bring a diverse set of location specific resources to family caregivers that will enhance their lives as well as their loved ones. We’re committed to creating solutions for family caregivers nationally, that support them hyper-locally.”
The expo is completely free to family caregivers, and they will enjoy a variety of activities while connecting with and learning from local caregiving resources.
