With 13 seniors on its roster, the Fishers boys soccer team is definitely up to the challenges of its season goals.
The senior list includes four key returning players for Tigers coach Robbie Pels. Jon Peskin is back as the Fishers goalkeeper, with Zach Peskin and Drew Gavit patrolling the midfield. Quinn Luckie is a defender, he will be joined by returning junior Elliott Mozingo.
“Our program has continued to develop an incredibly challenging schedule, which obviously includes all of our strong conference opponents, but also teams like North Central, Harrison West Lafayette, and Mt. Vernon,” said Pels. “Our goals for this year are to finish in the top three of our (Hoosier Crossroads) conference and to fight for a second sectional title and then challenge for a regional title.
“We have a very solid core of upperclassmen, but another goal for our team is to continue to introduce underclassmen into Varsity action. Our team will feature three sophomores who should make significant contributions on the field.”
Fishers opens its season Tuesday by hosting Westfield.
