The Auburn Cord Duesenberg (ACD) Festival in Auburn, Ind., is rolling into its 67th year, and this year, the Hoosier Tour is coming to Carmel on Aug. 30.
“The Hoosier Tour has been visiting regional cities for nearly 50 years,” said Bill Hohler, ACD Festival Board member and ACD Club member. “We are excited this will be our first visit to Carmel! We applaud their initiative to include automotive sculptures in their city scape and we look forward to visiting Wednesday, Aug. 30.”
More than 35 Auburns, Cords, and Duesenbergs will roll into town via police escort from a personal garage tour, making their way past the ACD Sculpture on 96th Street and Delegates Way and ending up at Carter Green from 11:30 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. for display.
Hotel Carmichael will play host to the Hoosier Tour participants for a special lunch in the Feinstein’s Cabaret with a presentation by sculpture artist Arlon Bayliss on his artistic process. Although the lunch is “invite only,” everyone is encouraged to stroll around Carter Green during that time and take pictures of these fascinating vehicles.
“We are thrilled to welcome the Auburn Cord Duesenberg Festival to Carmel and look forward to celebrating these classic cars with their owners,” Mayor Jim Brainard said. “We share their passion for these beautiful classics, which inspired us to install a series of classic car sculptures within the roundabouts on 96th Street, two of which are completed and two more to come.”

In one place it says that this event takes place on August 20th and in another place August 30th. Did I read it incorrectly or was this a mistake? Thank you. I don’t want to miss it.
Thank you for catching that mistake, Carol! The event is, in fact, set for Wednesday, Aug. 30. Thanks for reading The Reporter!
