Republican Scott Willis, current Westfield City Councilor, has won the Republican Primary for Mayor of Westfield.

“I am honored that the residents of Westfield have placed their trust in me to be their next Mayor,” Willis said after the election results were available. “I have worked hard to earn their support, and I think my experience, qualifications, and vision really resonated with people.”

Willis said his goal for Westfield will be to build upon the community’s roots to create a world-class city where you can live, work, and play – a place where you can raise a family, send your children off to college, and see them return home to raise theirs.

“I am excited about what Westfield can become,” Willis said. “A vibrant downtown where family and friends gather for fun with Park Street as the centerpiece for shopping and dining. A mixed-use village around Grand Park with a trolley shuttling families from the fields to the stores. And connectivity with our trails to create more walkability. To accomplish this, while providing for infrastructure and public safety, we need to diversify our tax base to keep taxes low.”

As mayor, Willis says he will focus on transparency and communication.

“It is my hope that every resident of our city will be a collaborative voice in Westfield’s future,” he said.

Willis, a retired Marine Corps Colonel, is currently in his first term as a Westfield City Councilor. He and his wife, Stacey, have lived in Westfield for 20 years and have three children: Sophia, Brenna, and Graden.

  1. How much was spent per vote? This is democracy?
