Lidskin began his coaching career in 1996 at Westfield. In his 23-year career at Westfield, his teams earned four IHSAA state cross country championships, one state runner-up, and 11 top 10 team finishes. He also guided three squads to top 20 finishes at the Nike Cross Country National competitions.

Lidskin began his running career at Glenbrook South High School in Illinois. He placed runner-up in the Illinois state cross country finals his senior year. From there, he went on to Butler University and earned four MVP awards as the university’s top runner in each of his cross country seasons. After graduation, he earned a sponsorship from ASICS and ran professionally. Additionally, he has written a book about coaching titled, SISU: Lessons from the Cross Country Course.

“We are excited to have Coach Lidskin back to lead our girls cross country program,” WHS Athletic Director Andy Tebbe said. “He is a pillar for Westfield Athletics and embodies everything we value. His success as a coach is well documented and his leadership skills and character will mentor and foster growth in the next generation of runners at WHS. We are blessed to have Coach Lidskin back to lead the program where he accomplished so much success over his first stint of 23 years coaching.”

Coach Lidskin is married to Kristin Lidskin and they have two daughters, Ella and Amelia. He is also an English teacher at WHS.
