Hamilton Heights finished a perfect week last Saturday by beating Tipton 52-37 to complete Hoosier Conference East Division play for the season.

The game was played at the Blue Devils’ gym, but the Heights fan base made the short trip north to cheer on the Huskies.

“We had an awesome crowd today,” said Cherry. “And that means a lot to our girls. We are very thankful for our fan base. They’ve been great all year. And even a student section today, which was cool. Even better, our girls gave Orange Nation reason to cheer for 32 minutes. Executed on both ends at a high level.”

The Huskies dominated the first quarter, which finished with Heights ahead 17-4. The Huskies then led 27-12 at halftime; Runner threw in two 3-pointers during the second period. She finished the game with 24 points and three 3s.

Rhoton added 15 points, including four triples. Hickok and Kassidy Schakel both scored five points and Hadleigh Cherry had three points.

Heights is 15-3 overall and finished division play 3-1. The Huskies have another busy week coming up with three games; they host New Castle on Tuesday and Westfield on Wednesday, then play in the Hoosier Conference playoff game on Friday. Heights’ opponent is yet to be determined, but the Huskies will play on the road.

Westfield rebounded from a Friday loss to win at Indian Creek, 46-43 in an afternoon game last Saturday. The Braves led 14-9 after the first quarter, but the Shamrocks came back and took a 23-22 lead by halftime. Westfield then edged out Indian Creek by one point in the next two quarters to earn the victory.

Kelleher scored 16 points for the ‘Rocks, with Van Dyke adding nine points. Crockett and Emmrey Collinsworth both scored eight points, with Reagan Lorenzen adding three and Loveless two to round out the scoring. Kelleher pulled seven rebounds and Crockett collected six.

Westfield is 11-8 overall. The ‘Rocks play the make-up game Wednesday at Hamilton Heights, then host Brownsburg Friday for another conference doubleheader.

Carmel traveled to Mishawaka Marian, one of the top teams in Class 3A, last Saturday and lost 56-43. The Knights led 18-12 after the first quarter and 31-18 at halftime.

Lach scored 11 points for the Greyhounds, with Lauren Perry and Mallory Bourquein each contributing eight points. Jamie Elliott added six, Woods four, Fisher three and Keaton Gatlin two points.

Carmel is 3-15 and hosts Fishers on Tuesday and Pike on Friday.

Guerin Catholic rebounded after tough losses this week to win at Lebanon last Saturday, beating the Tigers in overtime 46-45 at Rosenstihl Gymnasium.

The Golden Eagles led 13-7 after the first quarter, with Natalie Fernandez scoring five points, including a 3-pointer. Guerin Catholic led 19-12 at halftime, but Lebanon came back to within 28-27 by the end of the third period. Ava Bills scored six to help keep GC in front.

The score was tied 39-39 at the end of regulation, and Bills made the game-winner with 5.8 seconds left in the extra period.

Ava Bills scored 16 points for Guerin Catholic, with Cobb adding 10 points. Haines contributed six points, Fernandez and Murphy five and Kori Dues added four points.

The Golden Eagles are 7-11 and host McCutcheon Wednesday, then welcome Brebeuf Jesuit Friday for a conference doubleheader.
