The Westfield boys basketball team rebounded to beat Tri-West 74-51 in another home game last Saturday. The Shamrocks led 18-14 after one quarter, then poured in 19 points in the second period to lead 37-21 at halftime. Romack had 16 first-half points, while Buchanan scored nine.

Westfield led 53-32 after three quarters, then added another 21 points in the fourth. Romack finished the game with 25 points and Buchanan had 13 points. Nine different Shamrocks scored: Farrell had eight, Armani Middlebrooks, Seth LaRavia and Will Harvey each added six, Sam Bishop and Caleb Wise both scored four and scored two.

The ‘Rocks are 9-3 and play an HCC game at Avon Friday, then host Liberty Christian on Saturday.

The Carmel boys picked up another big win last Saturday when it beat Brownsburg 53-42 at the Eric Clark Activity Center.

The Greyhounds led 16-13 after the first quarter, then absorbed a Bulldogs run in the second period, where Brownsburg led late before Carmel came back to lead 25-23 at halftime. The ‘Hounds then pulled ahead to lead 38-30 after three periods, then added 15 more points in the fourth.

White led the scoring with 15 points, followed by Couto with 12. Sam Orme earned another double-double, this time collecting 12 rebounds to go with 11 points. Bonds added eight points; both he and White had six rebounds. Ryan Clevenger scored seven points and dished out seven assists.

Carmel is 11-5 and hosts Ben Davis on Friday.

The Fishers girls went back on the road last Saturday to play a Hoosier Crossroads Conference game at Avon, and won convincingly, 65-51.

The Tigers got off to a strong start, leading 17-9 after one quarter with seven different players scoring. Fishers then led 34-21 at halftime; Hailey Smith had six points in the second period.

The Orioles stayed around in the third quarter, but the Tigers were still up comfortably going into the fourth, leading 45-34. A 20-point fourth period sealed the win, with Joirdyn Smith contributing six points.

Triplett led the Fishers scoring with 12 points, getting at least one basket in each period. Hailey Smith and Joirdyn Smith both added 11 points, while Talia Harris and Olivia Smith both scored nine. Kate Thomas and Allison Scheu each had four points, Karina Scott added three and Ava Carter scored two.

Fishers is on a 12-game win streak, improving to 5-1 in conference play and 18-2 overall. The Tigers finish the regular season at home this week, hosting Lawrence North on Tuesday and Franklin Central Friday for their HCC finale.
