The Hamilton Southeastern baseball team beat Hamilton Heights 12-4 last Saturday to win an all-county game at Ken Seitz Field.
The Royals started with four runs in the second inning. Adam Wolf got the first run after Colin Kendrick sent him home on a sacrifice fly. Maddux Bach singled in Clark Bucher, then Bach and Kian Kelly got home after Jackson Bixler reached on an error.
Bucher doubled in Michael Hoog for a third-inning run and a 5-0 HSE lead. The Huskies put up three runs in the fourth inning: Dillon Pitts scored after Jackson Mikesell drew a bases-loaded walk. Adam Hughes got home when Owen Robey drew a walk, then Luke Davis scored when Kaden Lawson drew a walk.
The Royals answered with five runs in the bottom of the fourth. Bixler sent Bach home with a left field hit, then Hoog batted in Bixler and Dylan Lewis with another left field hit. Bucher doubled Hogg and Wolf home, putting Southeastern up 10-4.
The Royals added two more runs in the fifth inning. Kendrick scored on Bixler’s sacrifice fly, then Parker O’Steen singled in Bach. Heights scored in the seventh inning, with Kyle Michael getting home on Davis’ RBI fielder’s choice.
Evan Burns and Bach both had two hits, with Burns and Kendrick both hitting one double. Tyler Sarver got the pitching win, striking out 10 in 3.1 innings. Michael, Hughes and Tyson Upchurch all had one hit for the Huskies.
Southeastern is 10-14 and hosts Mt. Vernon Monday, then plays Westfield in a Hoosier Crossroads Conference series. The Royals play at the Shamrocks’ field Thursday before returning to Ken Seitz Field on Friday.
Heights is 6-13 and plays Thursday at McCutcheon. The Huskies will play a Hoosier Conference placement game on Friday, then host Eastbrook Saturday in a doubleheader.

Guerin Catholic split two games last Saturday at the Catholic Classic at Lafayette Central Catholic.
The Golden Eagles lost their first game to South Bend St. Joseph 10-4. Ben Canada hit a leadoff home run in the bottom of the second inning for the game’s first run.
The Huskies took control after that, leading 8-1 through four innings. Guerin Catholic’s Ian Taylor hit a home run in the fifth inning, then Canada singled in Karson Smith and Layne Walters with a seventh-inning single.
The Golden Eagles won their second game, beating the host LCC Knights 3-1. Guerin Catholic scored all three of its runs in the sixth inning. Tate Troxell hit a double that scored Drew Smith, after which Nolan Ratcliff and Troxell both scored on an error.
Canada and Beard both had two hits, with Canada hitting a double. Finn Holden pitched five innings for the win, striking out six.
The Golden Eagles are 10-10 and play a Circle City Conference series with Roncalli this week. Guerin Catholic hosts the Royals on Tuesday and then plays at Roncalli on Wednesday. On Friday, GC plays at Zionsville, then hosts a doubleheader with Greenfield-Central Saturday.

Carmel also split Saturday games, going 1-1 at the Crown Point tournament.
The Greyhounds dropped their first game 10-1 to the host Indians. Carmel scored its run in the fourth inning, with Jay Stein getting home on Evan Vogt’s RBI groundout.
The ‘Hounds beat Homewood-Flossmoor (Ill.) 4-0 in their second game. Jackson Harris singled in Max Walkey for a second-inning run, then Carson Mace scored in the third inning on Parker Heaney’s RBI groundout. In the fourth inning, Silas Neal singled in Walkey, then Heaney doubled in Vogt for a fifth-inning run.
Cole Caldwell pitched six innings for the win, striking out five.
Carmel is 10-10 and hosts games against Mooresville on Thursday and Roncalli on Friday. The Greyhounds play Saturday at Bloomington North.
