Sarah Buhton Simpson, 40, Noblesville, unexpectedly passed away on January 4, 2025. Born on December 16, 1984, in Indianapolis, she is the daughter of James A. Simpson and Nina S. Phillips.
Sarah grew up in Hamilton County and was a 2003 graduate of Noblesville High School. After graduating, she began schooling for psychology in Indianapolis. Sarah also loved to travel. She enjoyed going music festivals, concerts, and going on cruises. She loved warm weather and sunshine, the ocean, her dogs, and being an aunt to her nieces and nephews. Sarah had an undeniable presence when she entered the room. Her deep desire to love on family, friends, and the animals around her was evident by the way her eyes would light up when she was around. Her embrace could turn tears of sadness to tears of joy in a matter of seconds. Her laughter was contagious and her free spirit was enticing and mysterious. Her essence had a way of making people feel seen and heard, and she was always willing to offer wisdom or just listen no matter what time it was. She was selfless in the way she cared for others & her heart was as big as her dreams.
Sarah is survived by her father, James A. Simpson; brothers and sister, Jody Russell-Kiemeyer, Justin Russell, Crystal Anderson (Matthew), Christopher Simpson, Wesley Simpson, George Cameron Massingill, and Kylie Clark; 10 nieces and nephews, Mahala Cripe (Ryan, Eden), Carleigh Anderson, Luke Anderson, Chase Simpson (Olivia), Caitlin Simpson, Cristin Simpson, Hunter Simpson, Karianne Simpson, and Elijah Simpson; five beloved dogs; and several aunts and uncles and many cousins.
Sarah was preceded in death by her mother, Nina Phillips; her grandparents, and James & Buhton Simpson and Virgil & Christine McKinney.
Sarah’s years on this earth left a lasting impression on those who knew her, and she will be missed beyond comprehension. The family thanks those who have reached out and offered condolences. Celebration of life arrangements will be announced once finalized.
