Southeastern Program of Recreational Team Sports (S.P.O.R.T.S.) announced the renewal of one of its longest partners, Indiana University Health Saxony Hospital. With this partnership, IU Health Saxony remains the primary scholarship provider and an official community partner of S.P.O.R.T.S.
Over the past few years, IU Health Saxony has directed funding toward the scholarship program allowing children from low-income homes within the HSE school district one free or reduced scholarship per registration period. Since partnering with S.P.O.R.T.S., IU Health Saxony has funded over 500 scholarships. Through this official community partnership, S.P.O.R.T.S. will continue to be able to provide additional support to these families through the scholarship programs.
“We understand the importance of physical activity and recreational sports in the health and wellness of a child’s life, explained Joy Davis, marketing manager for customer experience and community outreach at IU Health Saxony Hospital. “Our partnership with S.P.O.R.T.S allows us to make a difference for kids who can’t afford to join a team. It’s an opportunity to take the IU Health mission, to improve the health of our patients and community, beyond the hospital walls.”
In addition to the hospital’s dedicated support to this key program throughout the year, IU Health Saxony is committed to assisting all of the families in the HSE school district and Fishers community. “We are extremely fortunate to have the support of the healthcare providers in our area. IU Health Saxony Hospital continues to show its commitment to our program and our families,” said Scott Spillman, Executive Director of S.P.O.R.T.S.
