Ruth L. Mace

December 31, 1923 – January 7, 2025

Ruth Lavell Mace, 101, passed away on Tuesday, January 7, 2025, at Brownsburg Healthcare Center in Brownsburg, Ind. She was born in Tilden, Neb., on December 31, 1923, a daughter of the late Ralph and Bessie (Jones) Keesling.

Ruth attended school in Nebraska until the eighth grade, then moved to Indiana in her ninth-grade year, where she graduated from Zionsville High School in 1943.

On April 19, 1947, she married Russell Devon Mace in Crawfordsville. He preceded her in death on June 5, 1989.

Ruth was a devoted homemaker who frequently babysat neighborhood children. Before her marriage she worked at Pittman Moore. Ruth was a member of Fairview Church. She enjoyed solving word search puzzles, sewing, Bingo, outdoors tending to her flower garden, and birdwatching. Above all, she enjoyed the time she spent with her family. Ruth was a beloved wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother who will be dearly missed.

Survivors include her children, Gary R. (Anne) Mace of Lebanon, Sherre L. Mace of Avon, and Randy L. (Linda) Mace of Lebanon; grandchildren, Brad Mace, Kelly Beesley, Jodi Trinkle, Suzanne (Mace) Cline, and April McCulley; 11 great-grandchildren; and a niece and nephew.

In addition to her parents, Ruth was preceded in death by her sister, Norma Langolf.

Funeral Services are planned for noon on Monday, January 13, 2025, at Myers Mortuary, 1502 N. Lebanon St., Lebanon. Visitation will be held from 10 a.m. until the time of services. Interment will follow at Oak Hill Cemetery in Lebanon.
