Royals girls win again, this time over Avon

The REPORTER

The Hamilton Southeastern girls basketball team cruised to another victory on Friday, winning a Hoosier Crossroads Conference victory at Avon 61-45.

The Royals jumped out to a 21-10 lead after one quarter. The Orioles got back to within 30-23 at halftime, but a 22-point third period helped Southeastern take care of business and keep its record perfect at 12-0.

“The team played great team defense in holding Avon 20 points under their average,” said Royals coach Brian Satterfield. “We had great contributions from all and shared the ball well.”

Maya Makalusky scored 20 points for Southeastern, followed by Kennedy Holman with 16 and Kayla Stidham with 11. Stidham led the rebounds with nine, with Makalusky collecting eight and Holman pulling seven. Stidham dished out six assists and blocked two shots, while Holman handed out two assists.

The Royals are 4-0 in conference play and take on Fishers next Friday in the Mudsock game at the Fishers Event Center.
