Royals softball drops first game at Terre Haute South Bash

Hamilton Southeastern dropped its first game at the Terre Haute South Bash on Friday, falling to Mooresville 4-2.
The Royals scored their first run in the third inning when Kaelin Wincek hit a single to send Ava Aguilar home. Southeastern added its second run in the fifth inning; Wincek again hit an RBI single to send Abby Taylor home. Mooresville scored once in the sixth inning and three more runs in the seventh.
Lillian Leiner, Aguilar, Taylor and Wincek all had two hits. Jaylah Guilliam pitched a complete game, with four strikeouts.
The Royals are 1-2 and will play three more games today at Terre Haute South. Southeastern takes on North Central at 9 a.m. and West Vigo at 11 a.m., followed by a 4 p.m. game, with the opponent to be determined.
